BYRON WIEN

WIEN--Byron. The Trustees and Staff of Prep for Prep are saddened by the loss of Byron Wien, beloved husband of deeply valued and steadfast Prep Trustee Anita Volz Wien. Byron served on the Board of Prep's predecessor organization, Broad Jump, in the 1970s, and Anita was elected to the Prep Board in 2002. Together, Byron and Anita have supported Prep for more than two decades. In 2015, Byron and Anita served as Co-Honorees for the Lilac Ball, Prep's signature annual event, with the late Bonnie Reiss and former Prep Trustee Richard Reiss. Lauren Frank, the Reiss's daughter and goddaughter of the Wiens, served as the Event Chair. Byron's support of his alma mater, Harvard University, also centered around increasing educational access. On behalf of the more than 4,500 students and alumni in the Prep Community, we express our heartfelt and deepest condolences to Anita; to Byron and Anita's entire family; to all of Byron's colleagues at Blackstone, where Byron was a longtime executive; and to the many communities that Byron was affiliated with during his long and full life.
