I just saw Cecily Selby on an old 1972-1973 episode of To Tell The Truth which showed on t.v. on channel 2-4 BUZZR over the air in the early hours of Monday, June 9, 2025 in the South Bay of San Francisco. The four panelists were Bert Convey, Peggy Cass, Bill Cullen and Kitty Carlisle. That show has two imposters and the real person all say they were Cecily Selby, the National Executive Director of the Girl Scouts of America. The panelists asked questions and tried to figure out who was the real Cecily Selby. My daughter is current Girl Scout and we were trying to guess which one was the real Cecily Selby. I guessed the middle person was her just by looking at the three during the introduction because the real Cecily had such a neat pressed Girl Scout dress uniform on I guessed it must be her and I was correct. The first person was wearing pants and the third person had the same dress uniform as Cecily on but hers was wrinkled and didn´t fit as nicely so figured the real one would be wearing a nice neatly pressed dress. From this link below it was episode 1562 of the show. The other person on the show was Barry Berlin, a 15 year old jewelry designer although on the show I thought the boys were saying they were 17 years old.
Cecily had a good long life as I was surprised to find she recently she passed away in 2023 and was on To Tell The Truth 50 years ago before she passed away.

Back in 1972, I met Dr. Selby as a hopeful applicant at The Lenox School. We had a special meeting because while I was the type of student they wanted at Lenox with glowing reports from my teachers, my standardized test scores were pitiful and didn´t reflect the same student that I was. I had to assure her as she asked me to- that I would not be a failure at Lenox. She admired my interest in my school projects and also the way I modestly stood up for myself at age 13. She also told me how lucky I was to have a father who cared so much about me. She left Lenox to be the Director of the Girl Scouts of America, and so I didn´t see her again. I was true to my promise to her, and did very well at Lenox in all aspects. I never forgot her and our decisive moments at that meeting. And I remember her vividly still. I offer my deepest condolences to her family and close friends. Cecily Selby is unforgettable.
Sincerely yours,

Cecily was a "renaissance" woman, also sincerely friendly and with great curiosity for people and learning. She had a true warmth that was felt immediately.
On the occasion I met her in British Columbia, she´d travelled to my son´s wedding because she was related distantly to my ex husband and was well acquainted with the groom (my son) and the bride while they lived in New York.
We had a happy conversation as we shared teaching, family and oceanic science interests. Her work and life experiences were fascinating but her great charm was in being caring and interested in others´ lives that came so naturally to her.
She had only met me but extended a kind invitation to lunch at her place if I should ever be in New York. My great sympathy to her family who will be mourning her loss.

Cecily was nothing less than a giant, and a cherished friend and mentor to my late mom, Ellen Wahl z"l, who passed in December 2022. Both were fierce, lifelong advocates for women in science. We very much hope to attend the gathering in NY this Fall. May her memory be a blessing to all.
