CHARLES YEAGER

YEAGER--Charles E. The Horatio Alger Association mourns the passing of Charles E. Yeager, 1986 Horatio Alger Award recipient. A U.S. Air Force officer and World War II fighter pilot, General Yeager was a strong supporter of the Horatio Alger Association and its mission to ensure the American dream for future generations. General Yeager was committed to providing students the resources needed to overcome adversity and pursue a college degree and made efforts to connect with Horatio Alger Scholars at every opportunity he had. General Yeager also served as chairman of the 1994 Horatio Alger Awards events, which raised thousands of dollars in support of Association scholarship programs. We are grateful to General Yeager for his dedication to our organization and extend our deepest condolences to his Life Partner, Victoria, and his family and friends.
