I am proud to say I was a Chloe Owen student. When most doubted, Chloe believed and it resulted in many years of performing from San Francisco to Graz, Austria. Her artistry and passion for her work was overwhelming. I had my last lesson with her when she was 90 and the fire still burned brightly and I still found much to learn. Into every life there comes a few pivotal people. For me Chloe would be at the head of the list. I only wish more people could know her wonderful and fully committed artistry.

Dearest Chloe Owen: I have many recordings of your brilliant beautiful singing. This week I have listened to many of them. There is no one that I know who can create the excitement for vocal music like you do. You are missed but thank god you passed on to others your technique. I miss you, always. Don

I am saddened to learn of the death of Chloe Owen. She was a great lady and an accomplished teacher and singer. I knew her for many, many years. She will be missed.

Chloe was not only a great voice teacher, she was a great friend. It was because of her wonderful teaching, inspiration and encouragement that I was able to go out and pursue a singing career. I could never repay her for everything she gave me. She was an incredible human being as well as a superb artist and dedicated musician.

Chloe Owen was Vocal Director for OperaOGGINY during our opening season 2007-2008. She was one of our original directors and gave very generously of her knowledge and time. She was a great performer, with enormous love and courage, she even agreed to perform with us, as Le Patronesse (Le Patron originally) in Massenet's Sapho. As stated above she was 89. WIthout her, we may not have formed our company which continues to bring opera to local neighborhoods. We were very blessed to have her with us and will never forget her. Brava Dame Chloe, we love you and await your next performances!!!
