Chris was a dear friend from high school days up until my 30s. One of my fondest memories was us finding a woman squatting in freezing weather by an air vent in the Top of the Gate listening to Nina Simone. We looked at each other, nodded, and asked her to join us inside, we would pay. She sat with us through a set each of Cannonball Adderley and Simone and split. Ave atque vale.

I first met Chris in 1971 when he was in the 9th Precinct and I was a court officer.
We became friends and stayed in touch after I went to a federal agency and after we were both retired
He visited with us in Rhode Island and vice versa.
He was an outstanding police officer and person.
When I couldn't reach him recently I was very concerned, and sadly found this notice.
My wife and I will miss him as a good friend - an honest and intelligent man with a good heart.
Rest in peace.
