Parents: Else Joseph Karweik, Erich Fritz Karweik (German Architect) Exodus 1939 via Betty&Hans Ferdinand Mayer The Oslo Report) ("Martyl" Mayer's secret code signature in Oslo letter to Turner), Henry Cobden Turner (British Engineer), Frank Foley British Spy. Foster families: Harry Cobden Turner Family, Manchester, Inghams, Bacup, Lancashire, Bougheys, Market Drayton, Shropshire. Into US 1946. Former husband Dudley E. Sarfaty. Pioneer advocate in practice of natural childbirth 1950's, advocating with, Childbirth Without Fear by Dick- Read. Mother to Stephen, Andrew, Philip, Christine. Omi to Joseph, Samuel, Nicholas. Aunt to Stewart, Warren, Paul, Ruth. Cousin to Gerda Cohen, Toni Marci, Stanley Seigbert Jaks, and others. Niece to The Josephs, (Herman, Max, Dorothea, Lesser, Hedwig, and more, many lost in camps). RN high honors 1965 Christ Hospital Jersey City, Farleigh Dickinson Psychology Magna Cum Laude 1971, Post Graduate Center for Mental Health New York City 1971. Union Graduate School, Psychology PhD 1977. Teacher Nassau Community College, Ramapo College, Hunter Bellevue School. Head Nurse, Empowerment Advocate for hospitalized mental health patients Bergen Pines, NJ; Bronx Psychiatric Center; Jersey City Job Corps for Women; Kingsbrook Psychiatric Center, New York. Psychotherapist, women, men, couples, healing domestic violence, affectionately "Doc" to participants in men's groups in New York Prisons. Practicing Buddhist, above all advocate for Know Thyself and Loving Kindness. Her legacy lives on in the lives and hearts of those she touched so deeply with her tender loving care and wonderful open-hearted laugh.
