Danny Lankford Obituary
1947 ~ 2014
Danny Robert Lankford, 66, of Emmett, Idaho passed away March 10, 2014 from metastatic melanoma cancer. He was born October 7, 1947 in Emmett to Oather and Arlene Lankford.
His interests included golfing, traveling with his wife, Loetta, family activities, bowling and snowmobiling. Earlier in life he enjoyed riding and racing motorcycles and cars. Danny thought anything that went fast was fun. He was also very gifted and could fix almost anything that was broken.
Danny was preceded in death by his parents, Oather and Arlene; brother, Garland and grandchildren, Rosea and Austin Grant. He is survived by his wife, Loetta; son, Tracy (Divina) Lankford; daughter, Cherie Lankford (Dirk); sons, Curtis Hines (Sunday), Steve (Arnett) Grant, Russell (Eva) Grant and Troy Grant; daughter, Michelle (Dennis) Pruett; 14 grandchildren and 21 great grandchildren; brothers, Darrell and Terry; sister, Cindy and his stepmother, Maurine Lankford.
Golf was Danny's game. Therefore, a Memorial Gathering will be held in his honor at the Gem County Golf Course (2102 S. Sales Yard Rd. Emmett, Idaho) on Monday, March 17, 2014 from 2:00 - 5:00 p.m. Final arrangements were made with Potter Funeral Chapel of Emmett.

I remember racing against Danny, along with my friend Spike Bates, at Firebird Raceway in 1969. Ironically, right now I have melanoma.

My family has made many great friends in Emmett through our father who lived there from 1989 until he passed last June.
