DAPHNE BOSTWICK Obituary

BOSTWICK--Daphne B. Daphne B. Bostwick, died September 16, 2025 of a Seizure Disorder at age 33. Beloved daughter of James F.C. Bostwick Jr. and Susan W. Bostwick. Cherished granddaughter of Diana G. Bostwick and late James F.C. Bostwick, Sr., and Randall C. Wight and Edward I. Wight. Daphne lived in the Bedford, NY Community w/her father. She was educated at KES, John Jay Middle School, Maplebrook School, JJHS and later attended The Reach Program at The College of Charleston, where she experienced tremendous personal growth and great joy in her college life. She excelled in Swimming and Basketball and went on to become a Special Olympics Tennis Player in both South Carolina and New York earning medals for her Tennis Achievements. Embracing the challenges of a low IQ Disability, Daphne developed a keen sense for Emotional Intelligence and evolved to become an excellent conversationalist offering smart and unique perspectives. Daphne tried hard to demonstrate her independence by doing the best she could in every aspect of her life. She showed incredible resilience and had a beautiful smile and a fun personality. Daphne adored her siblings Frazier and Lila. Daphne went on to paid employment at The Boys & Girls Club of Northern Westchester where she had worked in the Summers. The Club is where she thrived as a young professional enjoying the people there and her role Assistant and Concierge/ Greeter. Daphne's Amazing Spirit was a gift to us all. A Memorial: October 18, 2025 at 11am will be held at: St. Matthews Church, 382 Cantitoe Street, Bedford, NY 10506. I´m so sorry for your loss I knew Daphne Bostwick from school and she was a very nice person and she came to my birthday party one year and she gave me a present I wish I had known and kept in contact with her more.

I am so incredibly sad to learn that Daphne is no longer touching everyone she meets with her beautiful smile. It was my privilege to work with Daphne in the Life Skills program at John Jay High School for several years. Whether it was cooking soup or baking muffins to sell to the teachers, or working at Muscoot Farm with animals, or hamming it up at the Party Store she brought her game to every job! Daphne cared deeply about her classmates and teachers. She spoke of her family members with great affection. She was bright, funny, emotional, and tough. My life was made richer knowing Daphne. I am so sorry for your loss. I will look for her shining amongst the stars. With love, Chris Anne Hoyt

I am so sorry to hear of Daphne´s passing. She was such a light. I went to College of Charleston and my best friend and I volunteered with the REACH program and Daphne was her mentee. We had so much fun going on different adventures around Charleston. I will cherish those memories forever. I have your family in my prayers
