A Great Loss

With sadness we inform you of the recent passing of David L. Dalva II, co-president with his brother Leon of Dalva Brothers, Inc., the company founded in 1933 by their father Leon Dalva, Sr. and his brothers. Mr Dalva was widely considered one of the leading specialists in 18th century French decorative arts, and was president of the Art and Antique Dealers League of America from 1980 to 1984. Mr. Dalva was also the vice-president of CINOA. He was board member of the International Foundation for Art Research, sat on the Mayor's Councilfor the Arts, and was a fellow in perpetuity of the Metropolitan Museum of Art. Mr. Dalva was an associate publisher of El Diario-La Prensa, and supported numerous civic and social organizations. He was for many years active in the military, attaining the rank of full Colonel in the United States Army Reserves and was the former president of the Seventh Regiment Fund. Our sincere condolences to the entire Dalva family at this difficult time.
