DAVID REDDEN Obituary

REDDEN--David. The Board of Directors and Staff of Black Rock Forest Consortium mourn the loss of David Redden, who served on the Black Rock Forest Board for 17 years, including as Chairman from 2016 to 2018 and co-chair from 2018 to 2021. As Board Chair, he deftly oversaw the successful transition from the leadership of Black Rock Forest's founding family, the Goldens. David successfully led the completion of the Consortium's first capital campaign, establishing an endowment and fulfilling the Golden Family matching gift challenge. The David Redden Conservation Science Fund was established in his name in 2018 and supports a speaker series and has provided small grants to researchers to pursue conservation-relevant research at Black Rock Forest and beyond. David's commitment to Black Rock Forest and the conservation of the Hudson Valley will be deeply missed. We extend our heartfelt condolences to David's wife, Jeannette, his children, Clare and Stephen, and the entire Redden family. Hume Steyer, Chair, Board of Directors; Dr. Isabel Ashton, Executive Director

So many good memories of the 1980s with David Redden, a dynamic auctioneer who led Sotheby´s with intelligence, humor and a huge depth of knowledge. They don´t make guys like DR anymore... a Renaissance Man. Sincere condolences to his family. Betsy Huber Port
