DAVID SEELER

SEELER--David. David Seeler passed away on Sunday, September 28, 2025 at age 83. He is survived by his beloved wife Ngaere. He owned and operated the Bayberry Nursery in Amagansett, NY since 1970. David graduated from Friends Academy in 1959 and has a degree in landscape architecture from the University of Georgia, and a degree in ornamental horticulture from The State University of New York. Throughout his life David has demonstrated in words and deeds his abiding commitment to sustainability, environment, local ecosystems and Long Island history. David's civic engagements include 10 years as President of the Amagansett Historical Society; he was the founding officer of the Amagansett Business Alliance, serving as president for seven years; he was a major contributor to the Amagansett Life Saving and Coast Guard Station and served as a board member of Guild Hall, a community cultural center in East Hampton. He was on the Board of Trustees of Friends Academy 2019-2021, and a recipient of the Friends Academy Distinguished Alumni Award for his work, leadership, and many contributions.
