Mary & Family: it was a joy knowing Donald these past 5 years and witnessing his accomplishemnts during a difficult stage in his life. I may have been titled a "walking companion" but he became my friend, my checker partner, and dancing buddy. We continued to seize what life had to offer and made the best of it. I will miss him and my prayers are with all of you. God Bless.

Mary: Although Alzheimer's is such a terrible disease as it robs mind then body, there are still memorable moments from Galilee House at Moravian Hall Square. One of the most amazing memories of visiting my Aunt Bertha is of Don playing the grand piano. I am sure that his beautiful music must be one of your treasures of the heart as well. My sincere sympathy to you and your family. Susan Derr Kirk

I joined the New York staff of PW in June, 1952 and believe I had some small associations with Don probably in the staff assignment
room. His career was one of outstanding achievements. I wish to
offer my sincere sympathy to Mrs. Trautlein and family.

Don and I were very close childhood buddies in Ohio. Even though we haven't contacted each other for many years, I will always remember our "growing-up" days. There is a special spot in Heaven for Don!

Sincerely, Hank Gurtz
