Hello Jean,
My name is Bobbie Del Sol, a friend of CC Spiliotis-Hill,we were the nurses that came from Ringwood, N.J.
Donna was my patient for 3 yrs but I took care if her as if she was my child.
She liked it when I sang to her, massaged her hands n feet.Triming her nails was not of her favorite parts of her care.
Massaging her head she made a expression of relaxation.
As I looked through an an article which had pictures of your sons n Donna she was beautiful!.There were other pictures of her that captured her joyful spirit.
As I look back on my career as an RN,Public Health Nsg Sup and Clinical Instructor at Ramapo College, the care that I gave was gentle, tender and thorough.
As a multi faith chaplain,it was a gift from my soul that I gave her.
Sincerely,
Bobbie

today, January 21, 2013, I was reading through a stack of recent NYTimes and happened to look down and see a picture of Donna. And time stopped. And I was so saddened to see that she had passed in 2008. Donna and I had the exact same surgery, the exact same day - both our lives were changed for ever. I think of her so often, not as I last saw her, at Columbia, but as she often was - full of light and laughter and wry insight - spending time at my house to escape for a little bit from boarding school. She was a lovely, lovely friend and I am honored to know her and I am the better for knowing her. The pictures posted here capture her so well, especially the one with Chris. How much their young love meant to them. All my best wishes for your beautiful child. Thank you for having shared her with us - Cate Crown

Donna was one of the most beautiful, generous and loving beings I ever met. I was the English exchange student at Peddie, and was fortunate to work with Donna on two drama productions. She was an enormously talented actress, a total joy to work with, and I am so sad that the world has been cheated of this wonderful person. She was also my dear dear friend, who welcomed me into her world and made me smile every day I spent with her. I posted some pictures of her on my Facebook page, and it has been so wonderful to note what affection and warmth is still inspired amongst others by that glorious smile. She will forever my darling Donna, my purple princess, the girl from Greenwich Village...with my love and deepest sympathy to her family...Donna was a gift to the world, and a blessing to my life, for then, for now, for always...Ian.

My deepest sympathies to the Family of Donna Sands. We met on my first day at the Peddie School many years ago. She made this shy kid feel welcome. She was kind, prone to infectious fits of laughter and had boudless spirit. Although it has been many years, I remember her fondly, and always will.

Registration day at The Peddie School (NJ) can be dauntless. There are long lines to sign up for classes, recreational activities, religion, photographs and every other imaginable school activity. For me, it was my most memorable day: I met Donna Sands (and Jeannie!) standing in line in front of me. After 3 hours of twists and turns, upstairs/downstairs, inside and out, we were elated to find out we were assigned as roommates. I had an instant best friend – complete with a family! Every year thereafter, for 3 years, we chose to be roommates.
Today, on Donna’s 45th anniversary, we mourne our loss but we must always celebrate the joy and happiness that she brought each and every one of us. Her beauty, wisdom, confidence and humour were contagious. Blessed are those that were fortunate enough to have ever come across Donna in their lifetime.
Today we may cry, but tomorrow we shall forever fly.
My thoughts and prayers go out to her family and friends. Donna is forever with us.

To the Sands family,
I was very saddened to read of Donna's passing. Although I haven't seen her since our Lenox days, we became friends as the two last girls on the downtown schoolbus. I have many happy memories of sleepovers and playdates with Donna, and I send you my deepest sympathy.

Jeannie, A part of me has always remained 17 years old, the part that simply refused to move along without Donna. I have the most vivid memories of our childhood and if you want I will write them all down for you, though I don't know if I can do them any justice! You were all a second family to me, and a day does not go by that I don't think of Donna and of each of you. Donna's passing will not change that. All my love, Jennifer

Hello Sands family -
I was saddened to read of Donna's passing in the Peddie alumni news. Although I was not a close friend of Donna's, I have fond memories of acting in plays with her and the generous spirit she brought to peddie. My best to you all in the holiday season -
