DR. DONNA WICK

WICK--Dr. Donna Leahy, of New York, NY, died peacefully on January 15, 2017 at the age of 59, surrounded by family. She is survived by her husband, Walter Wick; her three daughters, Lily, Annabel and Tally; her mother, Elizabeth O'Connor; and her four siblings. Donna attended the William Smith college, concentrating in English, and the Harvard Graduate School of Education, where she received her doctorate in psychology. Donna's career combined her love of parenting and her fascination with the human mind. She was the executive producer of the documentary on motherhood, "Baby I'm Yours," volunteered for victims of domestic abuse at the Association to Benefit Children, and focused her practice, Mind to Mind, on reflective parenting. Donna also specialized in substance abuse therapy as the Executive Director of the Freedom Institute. We remember Donna as a proud feminist, a terrible driver, a voracious reader, and the queen of nicknames. To all who knew her, Donna was a force to be reckoned with - fiercely loving, irreverent, stunning, and freakishly smart. She left us with the sentiment that she lived a life beyond her wildest dreams and was so grateful for all of those who were a part of it. In honor of her valiant 17-month battle against brain cancer, we ask that in lieu of flowers, donations be made to The Preston Robert Tisch Brain Tumor Center. A memorial Service will be held at 4pm on Monday, January 23rd, at Landmark on the Park, 160 Central Park West.
