DORIS WHITE

WHITE--Doris Pattison. Doris Pattison White of Boca Raton, Florida passed away peacefully in her home on September 20, 2025, at an age of nearly 102 years. Born in Brooklyn, New York, the daughter of Charles and Julia Pattison, Doris excelled academically, entering Adelphi University at 16, earning her Bachelor's and Master's degrees, and forming lifelong friendships with her Delta Gamma sorority sisters. Doris first met her husband Arthur in 1939; they married in 1944. Following Arthur's discharge from the Navy at the end of World War II, Doris and Arthur settled in Long Island, NY, where they raised their daughter Leslie and where Doris worked as a beloved elementary school teacher for 24 years. In 1980, Doris and Arthur moved to Boca Raton, where they enjoyed retirement filled with concerts, international travel, and visits with family and many dear friends. Doris was an active member of the Boca Raton community, serving as a volunteer in the Boca Raton Historical Society for many decades. Following Arthur's death in 2008, Doris remained in her own home, cherishing her independent life, activities with her friends, and precious visits with her family. Doris was the beloved "Auntie Dar" to her nieces and nephews, and their children. Doris was predeceased by her daughter Leslie White Riedel, her sister Elaine Pattison Neefus and Elaine's husband James, and by her niece Meredith Scheck's husband Jay. Doris is survived by her sister Lois Pattison de Menil (George); her nieces and nephews Victoria (Ankit), Joy (Laird), Jason (Aoife), Benjamin, and Meredith Scheck; her grandnieces and grandnephews Meghan (Josh), Garret (Lisa), Elodie, Noah, Layla, Dorian, Cecily, George, Oliver; and her great-grandnephews Eli, Tobin and Willem. Doris is also survived by her son-in-law Gerard, her grandchildren Garen and Timothy (Kelly) and her great-grand- children Olivia and Harrison. A private service will be held at Arlington National Cemetery, where Doris and Arthur will be reunited.
