Edith de Montebello Obituary

DE MONTEBELLO--Edith. Edith Myles de Montebello, born in New York City in 1939, died peacefully on September 16, 2025 surrounded by her loving family after a brief brave battle with lung cancer. She is survived by her husband of 64 years, Philippe de Montebello, and sons Marc and Charles, son-in-law Dr. Robert Bernstein (husband of late daughter Laure), grand children Alexandre Achille, Claire, Max, Kivlighan, Everest, and great-grandson Jacques. Edith was a graduate of Harvard, class of 1961, in economics, and for decades served as head of Financial Aid at the Trinity School in Manhattan. Edith was kind and attentive, with a sharp intellect, and was devoted to her family, who returned that love triple fold. Edith's life will be celebrated privately with her mourning family. In lieu of flowers, those wishing to honor her memory with a gift may make a donation to Medecins Sans Frontieres.
