EDWARD McANANEY Obituary

McANANEY--Edward G. "Knute", died on December 24th. He was born on April 6, 1941, to Katherine (McClatchy) and Francis McAnaney. He graduated from Fordham Prep in 1957, the University of Notre Dame in 1961 and Harvard Law School in 1964, the same year he married Jeanne Glennon. During his legal career he practiced trust and estates and real estate law. A staunch believer in education, he was a trustee of Fordham Prep and Dominican Academy. From a four generation Notre Dame family, he was a lifelong passionate fan of the Fighting Irish. He earned the nickname Knute due to his legendary knowledge of ND lore. He is survived by his wife, Jeanne, his children Kathleen Molinsky (George), Eamon (Brooke), Margot Ryan (Edward) and Ashling (Matt Kramer), 12 grandchildren and his eight siblings. A wake will be held on Thursday, January 12th at Frank E. Campbell, 1076 Madison Ave. from 4 to 7pm. Funeral Mass at St. Ignatius Loyola, 980 Park Ave. Friday, January 13th at 11:00am. His family was his universe forever.
