My heartful condolences for the family of Dr. Eliot Lazar whose guidance as a chairman of medicine in Brooklyn Hospital Center has greatly motivated all of us who came across him. He inspired everyone around him towards becoming a good person as well as a competent physician. I worked very closely with him as a chief resident and I am greatly saddend by his premature demise. I regret not having close contact with him who did so much for me and now he is gone, I don't have that opportunity anymore. He always had this pleasant, caring approach and tried extra hard to help people. We will remember him forever. RIP Dr. Lazar!!

Eliot will truly be missed; in addition to his outstanding accomplishments, he touched so many of our lives. He was a great mentor and tireless leader. I will never forget the career advice he gave me and his guidance with regard to the importance of a "well edited" essay when my oldest son was in the process of applying for admission to college.
My thoughts and prayers are with his entire family.
