ENID ALPERN

ALPERN--Enid Marjorie (Levine), of Englewood, NJ, passed away August 6, 2023, one week shy of her 97th birthday on August 13, 2023. She was predeceased by her devoted parents, Irma and Lavey Levine, of Bayonne, New Jersey, and her doting husband of 71 years, Jerome Alpern, who passed away from COVID-19 in July 2022. Enid was a 1947 graduate of Cornell University's College of Human Ecology (then Home Economics) and met her soulmate Jerry during her junior year at Cornell. She was the proud mother of daughters, Dana Marjorie Alpern (John Pollick) and Susan Alpern Fisch (Ricky Fisch), in whom she instilled a love of art, music, reading, good recipes, and lush floral arrangements. Adored granddaughters, Emily Alpern Fisch, Abigail Alpern Fisch, and Sarah A. Pollick (Jeffrey Minzey) were a source of great joy, and she valued her multi- generational friendships from Englewood, Montauk, Caneel Bay, and Cornell. Enid and Jerry were subscribers to the New York Philharmonic for over 50 consecutive years, and loved attending Broadway shows well into their nineties.
