ERIC ROSENFELD Obituary

ROSENFELD--Eric. (September 14, 1939 -- August 24, 2021), of Millbrook, NY, died of Covid 19-related causes. Eric graduated from Columbia and Harvard Law School, subsequently practicing corporate and real estate law in the firm of Rosenfeld, Fischbein, Bernstein & Tannenhauser for more than 40 years. After moving to the Hudson Valley in 1979, he became a consumer rather than dispenser of legal services pursuing an entrepreneurial passion for deals and land conservation. He was a founding member of the Dutchess Land Conservancy and Millbrook Polo. He is survived by his wife of 36 years, Diane (Dede) Rosenfeld of Millbrook, NY and son Timothy of Lawrence, Massachusetts. Please make contributions in his memory to the Dutchess Land Conservancy, PO Box 138, Millbrook, NY 12545. There will be a gathering of friends in honor of Eric at the Mahomack Preserve on Thursday, September 9th at 6:00pm.

I met Eric when I joined ZBT at Columbia in 1959. He was a very "cool guy" who strode around wearing a tweed jacket and a scarf. We hadn't seen each other since those days but he left a lasting impression. Where have the days gone. My condolences to his family.
