Dear Emily,
We will always think of your Gene. He was sui generis. There was never anyone like Gene, and there never will be.
I was so touched by the page writing about their love for Gene. His spirit, no doubt, gave him such a wonderfully long life.
The knowledge that you shared this with him is very precious. Chuck and I send you our love at this sad time. Perhaps we should be celebration because you had such a wonderful, remarkable life together.

I've known Eugene for most of my life and he was one of the kindest, smartest, best read, and most interesting people I have ever had the pleasure of knowing. He lived life to the utmost, for which I always admired him. I send my very best wishes and deepest condolences to his entire family, especially his three wonderful daughters, Terry, Andi and Carolyn. He is and will be definitely missed.
