"Fran Craighead was a dear friend and mentor during my years at Reader's Digest International Editions, and our friendship continued for many years after her retirement. I shall miss her ( and our annual bento box sushi lunches) terribly. Her love and loyalty were remarkable; every year I received wedding anniversary, birthday and Christmas cards, some graced with her lovely photography. She was a great lady, and my life is poorer for the loss of her." Kathryn Phelps Summers
