Frank Levy Obituary

1923 - 2016
Frank Levy passed 12/23/16 after waging a tough, two-week battle against pneumonia.

His greatest pride was his children. Frank Levy lived for his family; his kids were everything to him raising his son single handedly from the age of 15 years old. He was active with all of his kids as coach, as dad as a friend. He was also quite proud of his military service as a medic in WWII, his attendance at UNC Chapel Hill, and his childhood boys club of lifetime friends; The Centuries. Frank was the most loving father, a deeply loyal friend, a loving husband and had been a loving son to Jack and Laura Levy of Manhattan. He was widowed in 1983 by his beloved wife Myra.

Accolades:

Star catcher of the army unit baseball team

Earned the WWII Victory Medal, the American Service Medal, Good Conduct Medal

Star athlete of the first men's Varsity Soccer Team at UNC, Chapel Hill

Opened his own successful business, JS&M Co. after an executive corporate work life in menswear textiles

Forged the early boy's athletic club "The Centuries" chronicled in two NYT feature articles and a CBS broadcast segment

Trophy winning sportsman in tennis and golf

A funeral service was held December 27, 2016 at Kol Ami's Chapel In the Woods.

His vibrant personality will continue to be sorely missed.
