URBANA - Charles Matthew Salyers, 60 of Urbana, passed away, Friday, April 29, 2016 in Riverside Methodist, Columbus.
Matt was a 1974 graduate of Mechanicsburg High School. He retired after over 40 years of service from Goodyear in Marysville. He enjoyed listening to music, was an avid Cincinnati Reds Fan and he loved a good craft beer.
He is survived by his mother, Barbara (Ferryman) Moore Hill, wife of 35 years, Charlotte (Melvin) Salyers, his children, Joy Lynne (Scott) Broshes and Matthew Michael (Joanne) Salyers, grandchildren, Victoria Katherine, Ian Gregory, Damen Matthew, Grace Anne, Hunter Renee, Courtney, Caleb, Lily and Sophia, his sister, Polly (Greg) Hawk and several nieces and nephews.
He is preceded in death by his father, Charles "Charlie" Clinton Salyers and a grandson, Quincy Prescott.
A gathering of family and friends will be held from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. Wednesday, May 4, 2016 in the SKILLMAN, MCDONALD & VERNON Funeral Home, Mechanicsburg.

So sad to see one of the decent people left in this world pass away. I always thought so highly of him. He could put a smile on your face when you were down. He was an amazing cook and loved his craft beers. Fly high, you're no longer in pain. I'll definitely miss you!
