Well written obituary highlighting many of Gary’s accomplishments. As a only child of Gary did a phenomenal job guiding both parents through adult care and taking care of individual assets. He made many trips from New York to Virginia to take of each parents personal belongings, preparing 2 homes to be sold etc. He did a amazing job of that difficult task and couldn’t be more proud of beloved cousin Gary !

Like so many others, I am absolutely crushed right now. I just learned the devastating news that the inimitable, the One-and-Only Gary Lawrence Cowling, "Mr. GLC" himself, has passed. What a true treasure to this world! He accomplished so much and brightened so many lives, it is impossible to measure his reach.
Gary is literally the reason I met my husband, Paul. Our children know that it was because I went so often to Gary's dorm room for study breaks (i.e. laughs) in Dupont at William and Mary, I couldn't help but meet my future husband on top of the elevator at one of his famous mixers. Gary was such a mastermind, event-maker of the best kind.
He was Chico to my Chica. We shared many adventures and shenanigans from grade school to middle school, to high school, to college. He was hilarious and so, so talented.
Gary, sorry I missed your call. My heart is hurting something awful, but I look forward to seeing you again. May God reward you richly, dear friend, for all the light and joy and wonderment you brought to this world. Love you "always and for-evah", Barbie
