Gene Bylinsky Obituary

BYLINSKY--Gene Michael, 77, died Thursday, September 18 in Loveland, CO. Born in Belgrade, Yugoslavia, the son of the late Rev. Michael Bylinsky and Dora Shadan, he was an award-winning writer for Fortune Magazine, covering science and technology. Prior to Fortune Magazine, Mr. Bylinsky was a member of the White House press corps and was a staff reporter for the Wall Street Journal. He won numerous journalism awards, including the Albert Lasker Medical Journalism Award and the American Chemical Society's James T. Grady medal. He was the author of four books: The Innovation Millionaires, Mood Control, Life in Darwin's Universe, and Silicon Valley: High-Tech Window to the Future. Mr. Bylinsky earned a B.A. in journalism from Louisiana State University. He is survived by his wife, Gwen; his daughter Tanya Fabian, son Gregory Bylinsky and six grandchildren. He is also survived by his niece, Inna Rodzianko and nephew Victor Rydlizky. He was preceded in death by his sister, Ia Rydlizky. Donations in his memory may be made to Father Woody's Haven of Hope (a homeless shelter), 1101 West 7th Avenue, Denver, CO 80204.
