GEORGE MULLEN Obituary

MULLEN--George J., Jr. The Board of Directors and employees of Fiduciary Trust Company International mourn the loss of our friend and colleague George J. Mullen, Jr. George's career at Fiduciary Trust began in 1976 and spanned three and a half decades. His every action inspired generations of Fiduciary Trust employees to listen carefully, speak softly, and act honorably. George operated with an unfailing moral compass. He was a true gentleman of great character and wisdom, and a lover of birds and the environments that nurtured them. We will never forget his extraordinary gift for choosing the perfect bow tie, or his love of simple pleasures like spaghetti and meatballs, a glass of chardonnay, and a good walk. A proud graduate of Harvard and Harvard Business School, George dedicated his life to his family and the service of his community. An avid birder, he served on the board of St. Philip's Academy, was the former president of the New Jersey Audubon, a long time advisor to the New York City Audubon, a founding member of the Bird-Safe Glass Foundation and a Life Trustee of the Manomet Center for Conservation. George had a deep appreciation of the culture of our firm and made sure that the principles of integrity and honesty were instilled in our thoughts and actions. It was an honor to work with him. Our thoughts and prayers are with his wife, Rachel, his daughters, Brooks Mullen and Amy Mullen Luster, and his son, George F. Mullen.
