GILBERT SCHWARTZBERG Obituary

SCHWARTZBERG-- Gilbert N.,Esq. Gilbert N. Schwartzberg, Esq., age 80, of Palm Beach Gardens, FL passed away on October 30, 2022. Loving husband of Debbie, devoted brother to Arturo, proud father of Julie (Eric) and David (Ana), and adoring grandfather of Cole, Maya, Savannah, Amanda, Daniel and Charlie. Gil was born in New York City on October 30, 1942. During his extensive career he found success in law, bio- medicine, banking, apparel/ shoe-manufacturing and fast food retailing. He was a founding shareholder of Skechers USA, Inc. and oversaw the process by which over a dozen companies became publicly-traded on all of the US securities exchanges. He co- founded LIXTE Biotechnology Holdings, Inc. in the hopes of finding better treatments for cancer. Previously, Mr. Schwartzberg was Chairman of the Board, President and CEO of City of Hope National Medical Center. He earned a Juris Doctorate awarded magna cum laude. He was the author of two books: Warning! Toxic Business Mistakes and Jane Austen's Persuasion Annotated, a Royal Navy Reading Companion. Gil was a master of Italian Renaissance and British naval history, was a passionate supporter of Israel and a voracious reader. He loved riding his tractor in the Berkshires and spoiling his grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his father Julian and his mother Juliet. He is greatly missed by his friends and family and will be remembered for his kindness, intellect, sense of humor, and generosity.
