GLORIA MANDELSTAM Obituary

MANDELSTAM--Gloria Messinger, was a devoted member of the North Salem Open Land Foundation and her passing is a profound loss for all in our community. Gloria was a person of highest principles and deepest commitment. In every aspect of her character, she enriched the lives of those around her. Together with her husband Charles "Bud" Mandelstam, a founder and long time counsel of NSOLF, Gloria was instrumental in preserving the unique natural qualities of North Salem for present and future generations. The legacy of Gloria's and Bud's lives will be written forever in the extraordinary natural beauty of North Salem and in the hearts of the members of this community. It is a debt that the members of the Foundation treasure and will endeavor to repay by continuing the work to which Gloria and Bud devoted so much of their lives. I worked with Gloria for over a decade at ASCAP, and she was a role model for many of us -- a professional, well-respected woman who was incredibly busy yet still always found time for those who reported to her. No one could match her, and she has been missed since she left the company. My sincere condolences to her family.
