Harold and I were first cousins . Harold and Harry always came to Florida to visit us. We were all together at the spring training games in Florida. We miss Harold and we love the Enten family very much.

Harold - you will be missed.
He was a liberal man brought up in the age of conservatism.
He was a fair man.
He tried to always do what he thought was right.
He always tried to be a gentle man.
He will be missed

I am Harold's youngest cousin.
Since we lived a block away in Pelham Parkway,we shared many wonderful and special times with our immediate families.
I looked up to Harold (literally and figuratively) and always felt in awe of him.
I recently learned that it was Harold who suggested to my parents when I was born, that my middle name be Irene .
I recall the wonderful conversation I had with Harold, one week before he passed away.He was happy and was looking forward to Louise and Dan's wedding.
Cousin Harold, you will be in my heart forever.
Rest in eternal peace.
Cousin Janet

I am a friend of the judge's son, Harry. Some of my colleagues and I were honored to be guests at the Enten family Seder in 2014. I got to know the judge that evening and at a subsequent lunch with him and Harry. Judge Enten was a fine man who loved his family and delighted in telling stories about baseball, his days on the bench, and the friends he had made. He will be missed.

Like my brother Mark, I have fond memories of Cousin Harold. I can hear his voice greeting me in my head even today. He was so friendly and yet had such a sense of gravitas about him. I also remember the giant Dick Tracy compendium and spending hours pouring over it through the years. I don't have to "wish" that "his memory be a blessing" because I know it was to everyone who knew him.

Cousin Harold was my grandmother's sister's (Molly) son. Growing up I saw him sporadically, as I lived in the suburbs while he at the time lived off Pelham Parkway in the Bronx. But he left a strong impression on me every time I did get to see him. He was always happy to see me, always warm and friendly, and always wanted to toss around a baseball (if I recall he gave me my first baseball glove and baseball). He was a big fan of the Dick Tracy comic strip. He gave my sister and I a huge oversized bound Dick Tracy comic collection which I read over and over many times as a kid. Not because I was a big comic book fan, but rather because his infectious enthusiasm made me want be to interested in the stories. Those fond memories in my youth along with Harold's and Aunt Molly's warmth remain always in my heart. Rest in eternal peace cousin Harold.

Harold Enten was both a dedicated legal professional and and a fine gentlemen. The two years that we worked together as colleagues in Bronx Criminal Court are some of the most memorable years of my life. Judge Harold Adler and and I spent many hours in Judge Enten's chambers talking and laughing and relaxing. He liked to talk about baseball and his friendship with Bobby Thompson and the "shot heard round the world!" I remember sharing saltless pretzels and learning how to lose money in the stock market. He introduced me to Investors Business Daily. We marveled at how he could renew a two-week free trial subscription continuously for two years. As the supervising judge of the Criminal Court, he was supportive and easy going. He created an atmosphere of collegiality and fellowship. It was my great honor to speak on his behalf at his retirement dinner several years ago. His warmth and laughter will be missed but all of us were enriched in some way by the privilege of having him pass through our lives. I hope that the family's grief over his loss will soon be overcome by the memories of the joy that he brought into the lives of so many.

Harold was my closest and most loving cousin. He was the "older brother" I never had. Our mothers were devoted sisters and since we lived near one another as children, we shared happy family time at holidays and through the years. It was a joy for me to get to know Barbara, the love of his life, whom he often referred to as "an angel." He knew how lucky he was to have her always by his side. His other joys were his brilliant children, Louise and Harry who adored him in return. I will miss our frequent phone calls during which he always recommended a new book, usually about World War II that was a "must read" for me. During our last chat, he sounded strong and happy as he was enjoying a beautiful summer day by his pond as he read a book about Churchill and Stalin. We looked forward to seeing each other at Louise's wedding. I ended the conversation by saying, "I love you" to which he responded, "I love you, too. Those words are helping to sustain me during this very difficult time. Rest in peace Harold. I will miss you forever. Cousin Myra Appelbaum.

I met Harold in 1984, as I was beginning my career as a 25 year old assistant district attorney in the Bronx.. For me, it was love at first sight.. There was something about Harold that I liked and I am so happy to say that we became fast friends then and have remained so ever since.. I've had the privilege of getting to know Barbara, and the pleasure of watching Louise & Harry grow into such successful adults.. My wife Teresa also fell in love with Harold almost immediately.. What a great privilege it's been to spend Passover Seder with Barbara & Harold every year.. How great to tell and listen to old war stories with Harold.. What a learning experience to listen to him talk about baseball, World War II, Dr. Johnson and so much else.. We love you Harold and we are going to miss you very much.. For me, it's the loss of a touchstone.. What a sweetheart.. No condolence should ignore the long, healthy, successful and happy life Harold enjoyed.. He was a lucky man.. Our sadness is due to the loss we're feeling, not because he had any regrets.. Love, Teresa & Vincent
