HELEN BENEDICT

BENEDICT--Helen. Helen Benedict, of Manhattan, died peacefully at home after her 100th birthday. Predeceased by William Benedict, her beloved husband of 51 years. Devoted mother of Barbara B. Price (Joseph) and William J. Benedict, Jr. (Dorothy Sprague). Loving grandmother of Alexander Price, Nicholas Price (Francesca), Will Benedict (Ana), Louis Benedict (Ana Clements-Benedict), and Liza Benedict (Sean Ahern). Helen was born in Brno, Czechoslovakia in 1924 to Ernest and Margaret Stiassni and lived in Vienna, London, and Rio de Janeiro before moving to New York City. She attended Battle Abbey School in Sussex, England, and Smith College. Helen was a long-time supporter and corporate member of Children of Bellevue. She was an accomplished skier and tennis player and an avid bridge and backgammon player until her death. Services private.
