HENRY SEHERR-THOSS

1946 - 2022

SEHERR-THOSS--Henry W. Harry, loved, respected and revered by many, died at the age of 75 peacefully at home in Manhattan on March 11th, 2022. Raised in Far Hills, NJ and Litchfield, CT, he attended the Canterbury School, Syracuse University, enlisted in the United States Marine Corps before graduating from Columbia University Business School in 1973. He forged a successful entrepreneurial career in commercial real estate in New York City for 45 years. Additionally, he was an avid, lifelong student of history, politics, and photography who traveled the world extensively. Loved for his jokes, irreverent wit, perspicacious view of life. His secret was his "Force of Will", in overcoming physical challenges. His perseverance and athletic ability allowed him to continue to pursue his passions for skiing, golf, fast cars and riding his Segway on the streets of Manhattan. However, it was his caring love of family and friends that trumped all. He is survived by his loving wife, Elizabeth of 26 years, his six children: Christopher (Samantha), Alexandra (Adam), Virginia, Marian (Travis), Harry, Jr. (Cieu Lan), Hans, and five grandchildren. In addition, he is survived by his half brother, George L.K. Frelinghuysen (Nonnie), of Manhattan; step-siblings: Bruce Christoph Farrell (Tory), of Wayland, MA and Wendy Farrell Victor (Mike), of Palm Beach, FL. A private memorial service will take place in June at his beloved Blueberry Hill in the Berkshires. In lieu of flowers, please send donations to vnsny.org.
