Herbert Hochhauser Obituary

HOCHHAUSER--Herbert, passed away April 30th at age 87. Loving husband to Aidalina Campillo, proud father of Michele (Ricardo) Bertran, Esq. and David (Janet) Hochhauser, M.D., beloved "Ipa" to grandchildren Nicole and Danielle Bertran, and Elizabeth, Rachel, Vanessa, Herbert Michael, Kimberly, Madeleine and Kevin Hochhauser. A World War II veteran, NYU and Columbia University School of Social Work graduate, he spent his career at Altro Health and Rehabilitation Services. He was a gentleman, ardent social justice supporter, avid NY Times reader and bridge player. Always interested in world affairs and the lives of others, most of all he deeply loved his family. "Uncle Herbie" is also survived by sister Connie Weinstock and many nieces and nephews. He was one of the most principled, kind and generous people anyone will ever know and will be forever missed.

Dear David and Michelle: It was with great sadness that Joanne and I learned about the passing of your father. He was a role model to me growing up. He was an usher at our wedding in 1977 and we have photos if you would like digital copies. I still have warm thoughts about him and your mother, and how they were such good friends to my parents. Best to your mother and both of your families.

Dear David, My heart and thoughts are with you and your family. Though it has been many years since we were pals, when I saw the notice in the NYT about your dad I wanted to let you know that one of the old gang is thinking of you. My love and condolences, Loren (Chodosh)
