HEWITT RUBEL Obituary
85, of Manhattan, NY and Tampa, FL passed away at his home in Tampa, after a long illness, on October 18, 2016. Born April 6, 1931, in New York, Hewitt attended the Horace Mann School, New York University and New York University School of Law. He was a senior partner at the law firm of Maggin & Swan. Hewitt is survived by his beloved wife of 24 years, Elaine Sokol Rubel; children David Rubel (Julia) and Erika Rubel (Thomas Bucci), stepchildren Steven Weissman (Rande), Philip Weissman (Meryl), Joe Weissman (Vicki), Gary Weissman (Laura Micciche), eleven cherished grandchildren; sisters Rujeanne Bleemer and Syril Berger (Ivan) and many friends and relatives. Hewitt's great passions were traveling and learning about the world and reading The New York Times from cover to cover.
