HOWARD STABIN

STABIN--Howard,

95, longtime resident of Westchester County, NY, died peacefully on August 5, 2018 in Jacksonville, FL. He was born March 6, 1923 in the East New York section of Brooklyn, NY to Isidor and Clara Stabin and was raised in Yonkers, NY. It was while stationed in Camden, SC during training to become an Army Air Corps pilot in 1944, that "the Yankee" Howard encountered "the Rebel," nurse Margaret "Nell" Horton of nearby Bethune, SC. Nell would become his beloved wife for over 60 years. He attended Parsons School of Design, and after a stint at the New York Daily News, Howard went on to a very successful career in the Advertising industry. He worked at Grey Advertising and later at what would eventually become Bozell Jacobs, Kenyon & Eckhardt where he played an integral role in notable campaigns for both the Ford Motor Company and Chrysler. Howard is survived by his children, Linda (Steve) Arnemann of Jacksonville, FL, Randy (Vickie) Stabin of Santa Barbara, CA, and Roger (Caryl) Stabin of Brewster, NY, as well as grandchildren, Scott and Christopher Benedict, Michael, Patrick, and Jon Stabin, and Kristin Johnson. He also had six great- grandchildren. Howard was predeceased by his wife, Nell as well as his sister, Florence. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to the Alzheimer's Association or a charity of your choosing. A memorial service has not yet been scheduled.
