Ib Jensen Obituary
Ib "Muk" Georg Jensen passed away peacefully on Tuesday, May 25th, 2021 in Hellerup, Denmark, at the age of 93. Muk was a potter, sculptor, designer, and the last surviving son of Georg Jensen. Muk (Pronounced 'Mook'), was a nickname he gave himself growing up, and became the trademark on his pottery for many years.
Muk was a beloved father to his six daughters: Pia, Ea, Gine, Liv, Hannah, and Gro. He and his life-long love, Merry (Heisiger Petersen) Georg Jensen, were married for over 50 years until her passing in 2004. Known as 'moffi' to his many grandchildren, he was a true inspiration to all of them. He served as a guiding light to his vast tree of family and friends.
A great listener and wit, he was blessed with a wonderful sense of humor. He could tell a joke in both Danish, his native language, and in English.
He enjoyed many types of music and books. He loved discussing world history and politics (Called himself an anarchist). He was very patient and the best storyteller.
Muk loved life til the very end. He said once, "I am so fortunate to be here and do the things I love to do," and those around him felt very fortunate too.
He will be dearly missed by all who knew him.
