Jacob Rosen Obituary
Born in Colorado, he moved to Massachusetts at age 1. He was a 2016 graduate of Natick High, attended Syracuse University for his BFA in dramatic acting followed, during COVID, by a master's degree in political science, believing that all politics is theater.
Following his dream, Jacob most recently lived in New York City working professionally in theater. He was also a visual artist and writer, having two of his plays professionally staged and his visual art published. He contributed to environmental newsletters and edited scripts for television and plays.
Jacob was loved by family and friends from all aspects of his life, especially his parents, Jill & Larry, his sister Dani, and his boyfriend John.
A private funeral service will be held followed by a memorial celebration open to all on Sunday, August 14 from 2pm-5pm at Temple Shir Tikva, 141 Boston Post Rd, Wayland, MA.

Jacob, you were one of my best friends when we were in middle school. I can´t thank you enough for being my friend during such a hectic time. Even then you had dreams of performing. You were such a class clown and always knew how to make me laugh when I shouldn´t have been. As you grew older, it was inspiring to see you following your dreams. I met Jacob in the first half of our interrupted Tepper Semester in 2020. His intelligence and humor radiated, and he held my attention every time he spoke. Honestly, some of the thoughts he shared were more memorable than the spectacular shows we watched as a class. Truly one of the smartest artists I have had the pleasure of knowing. He will be missed.

Jacob was a prominent face throughout SU Drama in my time there. The guy was EVERYWHERE and involved in EVERYTHING. I can't imagine there was a single person who didn't know Jacob. He was smart, witty, talented, and had the best damn impressions of SU Drama professors I've ever seen. In his short life he created so much. He brought joy to those around him and the world is a better place because Jacob Rosen was here.

I did theater with Jacob in middle and high school, and I remember his unmistakable talent as Mr. Mushnik in Little Shop of Horrors among other productions. He struck me as someone supremely confident and intelligent across an impressive amount of areas. I know he touched so many lives since we graduated in 2016 (and before that, too). This is a profound loss, but I have no doubt he will be remembered and celebrated for generations to come. I won´t ever forget his sharp humor, stage presence, and kind heart. I was in several musicals with Jacob and I remember him being an insanely intelligent and unique human being as well as an actor I always looked up to. Oh how I loved Jacob SO much. One of my closest friends and roommates in college. The conversations we had about love, life, art, and everything in between were so fulfilling; Jacob really was such a brilliant and beautiful person. There are no words to describe how heartbroken I am over this, but I will cherish the many good memories between us forever.
