James Anthony Boalt

BOALT--James Anthony, of Palm Beach died on November 3, 2007. He was 79 years old. Mr. Boalt was born on March 2, 1928, to Eben Boalt and Bernice Sweatt in Wayzata, Minnesota. Mr. Boalt's grandfather, William R. Sweatt, was the founder of Honeywell. After moving to Palm Beach, Mr. Boalt attended the Palm Beach Day School and later Choate. Mr. Boalt was a graduate of Yale University and Columbia University where he received his Master's degree in Finance. Mr. Boalt established his own brokerage firm, Boalt Properties, Inc., in 1989, in Palm Beach after being an investment counselor representing Inverness Management Co. in Palm Beach. Mr. Boalt was a Governor and Director at the Everglades Club, a Governor of the Seminole Club and a member of the Sailfish Club, Bath & Tennis Club, Brook Club (NYC), Maidstone Club (East Hampton) and Lyford Key Club (Nassau). Mr. Boalt was a loving father to his children and is survived by his daughter, Lisa Boalt Jeffery and her husband Jeremy; a son, Adam Rousseau Boalt; a daughter, Amanda Strong Boalt; a son, Christian Anthony Boalt; grandchildren Wynn Prentiss Jeffery, Daisy Meek Jeffery and Rosalie Boalt Jeffery. He is also survived by his sister, Diane Potter Saunders of Wiltshire, England and his brother, Ralph Boalt of Delray Beach, Florida. A memorial service will be held at The Episcopal Church Bethesda-by-the-Sea on Wednesday, November 7, 2007 at 2:30pm, with the Rev. Lynne E. Jones, officiating.
