JANET ACKERLY Obituary

ACKERLY--Janet F. Renowned Interior Designer, Janet F. Ackerly, founder of Southport Design, Ltd. passed away July 17 at age 95. The daughter of Bernice and Henry Farmer of N.Y.C. Her beautiful interiors were featured in multiple show houses, magazines, and books including five of New York's prestigious Kips Bay Decorator Showhouses. Janet was a dynamo, with tremendous energy and determination to enjoy life to the fullest and to accomplish any endeavor including being a lifelong advocate for children. She is survived by daughters Betsy Rowley-Chandler (Dave), Phyllis Rowley Pollock (Nick) and her sons, Clayton Rowley (Wendy) and Mark Rowley.
