JANET LAZAR Obituary
It is with great sadness that we mourn our beloved Janet who passed away peacefully at home in Manhattan, surrounded by her devoted family Saturday afternoon, July 28, after a valiant fight. Devoted to her family, she was daughter of Shirley and the late Leo Lehr, and survived by her beloved husband, Gerald, loving children, Deborah, David (Amy) and Jeffrey (Shara) and nine adoring grandchildren, William, Michael, Andrew, Nicole, Gregory, Ava, Sylvia, Olivia, Leo and supportive sister, Marilyn (Gil Goldstein). Janet was a long-time supportive member and trustee of Temple Israel of the City of New York and an advocate for the American Cancer Society. Intimate Family Funeral at Temple Israel Cemetery, Hastings on Hudson, July 29. Shiva, Monday evening, 6-8pm at Temple Israel of the City of New York. Donations in honor of Janet's memory can be made to the American Cancer Society. She will be greatly missed but her spirit and love will be with us forever.

JUST HEARD THE NEWS OF THE PASSING OF AN OLD AND DEAR FRIEND,jANET lAZAR.WE SPENT MANY WONDERFUL TIMES TOGETHER, WHEN WE WERE NEIGHBORS ON EAST END AVE, AND I AM DEEPLY SADDENED WITH THIS NEWA. MY CONDOLENCES TO THE LAZAR FAMILY.SHE WAS A GREAT WOMAN AND FOUGHT FOR MANY YEARS TO CONQUER THIS HORRIFIC DISEASE.. RIP JANET

I read my entry about Janet. Please oforgive me all. I think it seems as though I said Janet was plain and simple, I meant my words were. Janet was the opposite end of the spectrum from plain and simple. HSe was the epitome of everything she under took.

I send my deepest sympathies to Gerald, Jeffrey, David, Deborah and all. I have very fond memories of Janet. She loved her immediate family and her extended family at LEHR Construction. She was like a den mother to us. I will always remember her fixing my scarf one day - it was a very endearing gesture. And boy could she throw a holiday party! I will keep you in my thoughts and prayers at this difficult time. With love, Nora
