JASON SHULMAN

SHULMAN--Jason M. a devoted husband, father, father-in-law, grandfather and patriarch, died peacefully surrounded by his family on August 23, 2021. A Fordham Law School graduate who attended New York City public schools and earned his undergraduate degree at Long Island University Brooklyn. He maintained an independent private law practice well into his 80s and was a distinguished member of his community. Jason was a past President of Sons of Israel Synagogue in Woodmere, a dedicated member of UJA- Federation of New York, an active member of the Five Towns Democratic Club, and in the 1970s, a candidate for both Town Councilman and Presiding Supervisor. His engagement in his community was a lifelong passion. To that end, even into his 90s, he was a vital member of Sutton Place Synagogue, holding a board seat and serving as a chair of the Religious Observance Committee (which expanded opportunities to female membership). He was always volunteering to serve the congregation and was a vital and active participant in Shabbat morning services. Jason was the devoted husband of Beverly Shulman, the loving father of Donna Shulman and Stephanie Bhonslay, father-in-law of Jamie Miller, the brother of the late Roberta Leibson, and grandfather to Jared, Tanner and Malena. Private graveside services will be held on Wednesday, August 25, 2021 at Beth David Cemetery in Elmont, NY at 9:45am.
