Over the past decades, we've crossed paths on the internet because of our names. As a fellow musician, I've always been proud to do so. I admired your work and your achievements, and I always will. Throughout the years I had people ask me if I was the David Saks who worked for the Met. I always said no but there is a man by the same name, a better musician than I, who does. I am very saddened to hear of your passing. Your work will live for eternity and the memory of you will remain a benediction to the musicians of this world, Jay.

Jay´s passing marks the end of an era, but he´s left us an uncommonly rich legacy of brilliant work. And he was as golden a colleague as he was an artist.

I worked at RCA. He didn´t know me except to know I worked there. But he always said hello and I always thought "what a handsome classy talented RIP Mr. Saks.
