JEFFREY MEDOFF

MEDOFF--Dr. Jeffrey Roy. Dr. Jeffrey Roy Medoff skied his last run on October 18, 2025. He died peacefully at home in the arms of his bride of 50 years, Debra Silber. Jeff was born in New York City on August 20, 1952 to Rita Katz Medoff and Dr. Alan Sherwood Medoff. Raised in NJ, he was a charming blonde, Yankees and Giants football fan, outstanding athlete, adoring brother, and steadfast friend. An epic 57-year love story began with a Teaneck High School ski trip and an ice cream date at Bischoff's. Jeff and Debi married on June 8, 1975. Jeff was beloved by Debi's siblings and her parents, Gloria and Gene Silber. Jeff graduated from Middlebury College with lifelong friends and degrees in Biology and Art History. He attended New York Medical College, followed by residency and a gastroenterology fellowship at Duke. On faculty, he researched hepatitis and helped launch the liver transplant program. In 1986, Jeff joined LeBauer Healthcare in Greensboro, became a managing partner, and later founded Medoff Medical and Vital re:Search. Renowned for his compassion and personal attention, he retired in 2023 after caring for more than 10,000 patients. Jeff served his community as president of Greensboro Jewish Federation. He never missed an important moment with his six children, coaching 60+ seasons of youth soccer and attending 90+ Nutcracker performances. Jeff was the best listener, breakfast chef, bike riding coach, and moral compass. He was an expert skier, average fisherman, and beginner banjo player. He loved Swiss chocolate, homemade applesauce, bourbon, swimming laps, Duke basketball, and above all, his family. He is survived by his wife Debi; siblings De Lachman and Bruce Medoff; children Kara (Dov Barnett), Ari (Diana Medoff), Sar (Elizabeth Consky), Mica (Adam Stern), Carmi (Jesse Weinberg), and Gena; and 11 grandchildren who adored their O'Pappy.
