JEFFREY SILVERSTEIN Obituary

SILVERSTEIN--Jeffrey H.,

M.D. The Department of Anesthesiology at the Icahn School of Medicine at Mount Sinai mourns the passing of Jeffrey H. Silverstein, M.D. an esteemed anesthesiologist, researcher, educator, colleague and friend who enriched the professional careers of students, house staff and faculty alike. His accomplishments in the study of postoperative cognitive dysfunction, research mentorship and the protection of human subjects are foundational. His colleagues and friends in Anesthesiology will miss his warmth and wit and extend heartfelt sympathies to his wife and colleague, Dr. Stacie Deiner and his family.

It is a great sadness that our colleague Dr. Silverstein passed away. We will miss him dearly. He will be remembered for his relentless effort and his numerous contributions to the medical community. May he rest in peace.

I am very sorry to hear of Jeff's passing. He was a lovely human being and a superb doctor. It was always a pleasure to work with him in the OR and on the IRB. He will be missed in the Mount Sinai community.

I was saddened to hear of Dr Silverstein's passing. As one of the attending anesthesiologists who trained me, he will always be remembered as a man of integrity, a doctor who truly cared about his patients. To a resident in training, he was a doctor who one would like to emulate. My condolences to his wife Stacie and the rest of his family.

I am so sorry for your loss. Dr. Silverstein was such a great person. He was not only a mentor for me, but he was an amazing human being who taught me many things. He will live on in our memories forever.
