AKERMAN--Jesse. Jesse Akerman, 82, died January 4, 2025, in New York. Born August 4, 1942, in Glasgow, Jesse came to New York at 18 and built a remarkable life. She ended her long and distinguished career at Kroll. Known for her extraordinary work ethic and stylish wardrobe, Jesse had a quick wit. Loved by many, she was a generous friend and confidant. She was predeceased by her beloved husband, Carl. She is survived by her stepchildren Lynda, Darren, and Lance, daughter-in-law Brenda Shufelt, and brother John (Jack) Morgan.

I went to school in Glasgow with Jesse, 1953-57. Lost touch with her following school days but knew she had emigrated to USA. I moved to New Zealand in 1963 and managed to contact Jesse 4 or 5 years ago. I lost her address and have just found her name on Facebook. So sad to hear of her passing but very happy that we did write to each other several times. My condolences to her family. She will be missed.
