My condolences to the Andariese family. Emily would probably not remember me, but Amy and Julie surely would. We spent some summers together in Breezy Point as teenagers. Mr. Andariese was such a lovely man and always made me feel welcome. My prayers are with you all.

Maureen, I was so sorry to hear of John's passing last week. As a lifelong Knicks fan, I listened to his analyses for many year and had the chance to meet him one time at MSG. He was a true gentleman. You may remember me from high school and college days -- when my nickname was Boozer. My father is battling dementia right now, and I know how difficult that can be. My thoughts and prayers are with you and your family at this time. May John rest in peace.

A voice from the past, I was a classmate of John 56-60, we lived in the same dorm 2d year, He was a GREAT gentleman in all respects. Many years ago took my son to a Knicks' game in NYC (I live in MA)and hadn't seen him for LONG time, he was MOST gracious to him/me, and ALWAYS the gentleman I knew. God Bless him, and his Family, and the love is still there for John - a great guy! Nice to see Don Altomare send his warm comments and hope the surviving teammates do the same! How could one not one like/respect John? From a lifetime Celtic fan. Dick Moylan

As a four year teammate of John at Fordham, we shared many basketball memories playing for our coach, the late Johnny Bach. John motivated us with his constant encouragement of "Never give up!" I'm sure John is at the "gym" in heaven hitting that left handed jump shot that I saw him make so many times!! He set such a fine example for the whole team as a very special player and a very special human being.
With my deepest sympathy and unforgettable memories,
Don Altomare

Dear Maureen,
When people talk about celebrating a life when someone leaves us-I have not known many that should be "celebrated" more than John. He simply-"stood out" from the crowd in ever so many ways-always making those in his company feel better when in his presence.
Our friendship that spanned decades will always be cherished. Our many-many lunches shared together-when we talked about "everything"-burn brightly in my memory and always will. I loved the man and feel privileged he was part of my life.
I do hope there's somewhere that the good ones go off to when they leave us-clearly-if there is-John was welcomed there with open arms.
Love,
Tommy T
