JOHN FRITTS

FRITTS--John Frederick. John (Jack) Frederick Fritts passed away at his home in New Jersey on May 3rd, 2021 at age 86. He is survived by his wife of 60 years, Anne Henderson Fritts, his four children and seven grandchildren. Jack graduated from Princeton University and Harvard Law School, and joined Cadwalader, Wickersham and Taft, becoming a partner in 1968. A giant in the New York legal community, his practice focused on general corporate, securities and commodities matters, as well as corporate representations and business transactions. In addition to serving as firm chairman and managing partner, he established the firm's first London office, and spearheaded its Beijing office and Latin American practice. Jack used his legal expertise to help others, serving on the Board of Directors of a number of organizations, including the Food Bank for New York City, The Land Conservancy of New Jersey, and Barrier Free Living. In 2018, the Food Bank named its Bronx warehouse "The Jack Fritts Distribution Center" in honor of his long- standing support including helping to establish the organization in 1983. Jack also supported Camp Arcadia, a girls' summer camp in Maine that Anne's family has operated for more than 100 years, by advising the Board of Directors, putting in the docks and everything in between.
