His eclectic musical tastes included bluegrass, folk, jazz and opera, and he was an enthusiastic follower of the NYC Ballet. An avid nature lover, John could often be found birding in Central Park and upstate New York, and traveled to nature habitats and cultural sites around the globe. I often think of Uncle John hiking in the Adirondacks, he was so long legged it was a run to keep up with as a kid. I remember his smile and a twinkle in his eye like he had a secret. They were both very welcoming when I came to visit and it is always a time I will cherish. My love to all of you.
