I knew John through his brother Gene who I worked with a very, very, very long time ago. I have always felt a kinship with the Madden boys. Our shared Irish American backgrounds and crazy sense of humor have kept our friendship going all these years. Even though we didn't see each other due to me moving down the Jersey Shore, when we did meet up it was as if we saw each other yesterday. That is the special way John had he was a true gentleman, kind spirit, loving and generous to his family and friends. We are blessed to have known him. Bail ó Dhia ort (Gaelic for The blessing of God on you).

John was a real gentleman and my sincerest condolences to his friends and family. When I was starting my career as an arbitrator/mediator/conciliator here in Dublin John acted as a friend and mentor to me in this process and I really appreciated it. He was a good man and will be missed.

Briefly met John while as a friend of Eugene. Having spent time with Eugene, I can only imagine the greatness of John as a brother and tutor. May God Watch Over John's Family; and, May He Rest In Peace. Thank you for the Memories.

John and I met in 1987, introduced by Sally. We practiced law together, took summer vacations together with our families. John sponsored me into the National Arts Club and I still have the photo taken that night of Martin Scorsese, Francis Coppola, MIchael Powell, Aldon James, John Madden, and me. John was a happy man, full of life, energy, positive spirit, and love of his family But nothing made him as happy and proud as his sons, Sam and Chris, whom he loved with all his being. We will miss you John, but you enriched our lives, and we all better people for having known you. Rest In Peace, my friend.
