John McGillicuddy Obituary

McGILLICUDDY--John. We are deeply saddened by the loss of our longtime friend and banker, John McGillicuddy, a man of great intelligence, integrity and humility. John recognized the importance of developing successful, long-term business relationships and understood the needs of a builder in both good and difficult times. He was also our first major partner in support of the New York City Marathon and a key ingredient to its success. He will be greatly missed. We send our heartfelt condolences to his entire family, especially his wonderful wife, Connie. Rudin Management Company Jack Rudin, Chairman

I had the greatest privilege of being a young student friend of John Mc Gillicuddy in 1947. He personally took me, an 8th grader, under his guidance as a senior at Harrison High School. For that single year of companionship, I shall never forget John for his inspiration, understanding, and friendship. We met for the last time at the Denison University graduation of his youngest son and my daughter Susan. I extend my heartfelt condolences to his entire family. Richard A. Coulter

I had the privilege to have worked at Manufacturers Hanover under John McGillicuddy. He was a true gentleman and a true leader.

He managed to make a major corporate bank feel like a small country bank to his employees. Once you had the pleasure to meet him, he never forgot you.

I thank him for having made my many years at Manufacturers the highlight of my career.

God bless you, John. Rest in peace.
